here comes the rain...

i have reached a point where the rains dont seem morbid anymore.
nor the grey sky.
not the musty odour hanging loose in the night air, either.
it all seems very thats-how-it-should-be~ish
waking up everyday to the same drizzle pelting down the parapet.
waking up with a sore throat like someone's scratching a very sharp pencil against it.
the coffee had little sugar in it today.
and the rain stopped for some minutes before starting with a far greater gusto all over again.
locking oneself in the house for a few days flat isnt worth complaining.
make boats and sail them in the nearby pothole instead.
burn paper and breathe in the whiff of burnt incandescence.
hum.croon.
but dont sulk.
pls.
the rains are not sulk-inducing elements.
they are good things that keep workaholics like maa home on an otherwise very very busy monday morning.
dont go blaming the mayor.
he is a do gooder.
he helped flood the streets so that you enjoy an extended weekend.
God bless the mayor.
encore!

Rains don't seem so romantic when you reach the office soaking wet only to find that your boss is still enjoying his "extended weekend"

@poojo-you see its a shame that calcuttans have suddenly become so goddamn workaholic.nobody loves a nice little out of the blue holiday these days.khichudi and papad are no longer tempting enough to keep them home.
@anna-rchy,heh!you almost sound like The Outsider.

Hey I really like this piece. Its got a very positive feel to it.I reckon the piece tells people instead of cribbing about life we could get on with life and find something good in everything without conforming at the same time.Like the way its also written.
